It's on the outside of the right front chassis leg according to a previous post posted on here in 2010. Could be covered also with sealer and muckWell it passed the CT (MOT in English) no advisories except neither the tester nor I could find where the chassis number is stamped. After 45 minutes he gave up. Does anybody know where the bludy number is? The tester was new and had never seen a P38 before so he asked me to find the number and photo the location for him for future reference.
OK for another 2 years now
I have just found that post. There was no sign of the number in that position on mine. It's back in the barn at the weekend for the gearbox oil change so I'll take the wheel off and get going with a wire brush. It's on the outside of the right front chassis leg according to a previous post posted on here in 2010. I reckon it's even fainter than that on mine. I'll sand the mud and paint off at the weekend.View attachment 296629 i know, clear isn't it
It's right as in the right side of the car.Is that sitting in the car or facing it?
But yes it’s there on the downward part of the chassis behind the front axle.

I got the trade discount on the cost so very happy as the price has gone up to €78 and I paid €67
Yeah all the hevac heater and ac and heated seat system works, everything but the rear washer works on the vehicle and heated Windscreen but they didn't work when i got itdo the heated seats work? ecu could be shut down if the battery is low.
i've had seat buttons not working while engine is running purely because of low power when starting a cold engine
Here is the thread that I started a few years ago when I needed to get a photo of the chassis number so that JLR would issue me a Certificate of Conformity that I needed while re-registering my P38 in France. Finding it caused me a lot of head scratching before I finally was able to find & photograph it.Well it passed the CT (MOT in English) no advisories except neither the tester nor I could find where the chassis number is stamped. Thanks for that, I had already done search and found it. I will look again for the number on the chassis when I get the car in my garage. Here is the thread that I started a few years ago when I needed to get a photo of the chassis number so that JLR would issue me a Certificate of Conformity that I needed while re-registering my P38 in France. P38A - Location of chassis VIN on 2001 P38A?
This question has been asked before but not really answered. I need to find the chassis VIN on my UK registered RHD 2001 P38 Ranger Rover Vogue so that I can take a photo of it so that JLR will give me a Certificate of Conformity so I can re-register the car in France. For their own reasons JLR...www.landyzone.co.uk
If it comes away from the screen can you put a small piece of glass over it and use a squirty bottle to test it.Still having issues with the rain sensor. Autoglass are convinced it's damaged, even though it doesn't generate any error codes.
They are also convinced it's not their aftermarket windscreen.
I don't want them to replace my oem sensor if there's nothing up with it.. any ideas how i can diagnose?
Has to be the right thickness though? If it comes away from the screen can you put a small piece of glass over it and use a squirty bottle to test it.
