what does everyone use to maintain battery voltage while doing ignition on diag? all the pukka tools seem silly expensive!
But yours will just turn off after xx mins wont it?
Or if it thinks the battery is to low, anyway.
think some say just have a battery charger on it, pretty sure BBS and IIDGap say that. I "had " a Noco, Nico? (name) charger that had a 13v constant output maybe that would do as it would be stable

The charger? I doubt many chargers draw more than 13A as that tends to be the most current the fuse in most domestic plugs can handle.

13A on the 230Vac side can be 40A on the 12vdc side.

No domestic use charger draws more than 13 amps from the 240 volt supply and some will provide 70 amps at 12 volts, expensive though.

That's a good point. 3kW, minus a bit for conversion losses, call it divide by 15 is a lot of amps.

Mine seems to go up to 16A, although I cannot say I have ever set it above 8A.

think its an 850AH, dont think much bigger will fit? maybe 900AH?

Well approx 21 hours on an 850Ah battery to be completely depleted at 40Ah load. It would probably die before that.think its an 850AH, dont think much bigger will fit? maybe 900AH?
