really frigged off now, but am over a barrel.
dealer messed me around for weeks, got the warranty company involved. warranty refused to pay, but by this time car is not derivable and at the repair garage. by the time i get the costs sorted, garage can't do the work until.. wait for it.. 6th Feb!!

Good job you got it off a dealer. Second-hand Range Rover? You'd have to be a right mug ...

A stiff letter from a solicitor (£50) and tell them you want your money back. It broke within the 30days didnt it? and I am sure laws state it should be more than that as "fit for purpose" (or other legal speak).

yes, but they also need to have the opportunity to fix it

I dont know the ins and outs, but if it was in the 30 days you can just ask for your money back I think. you need to check consumer rights. But I do know I would not be happy either and certainly be on their case. what's the excuse? If needed I could probably get an AC compressor to hear, fitted and recharged before the end of the month. What's their problem?

Or ask Stan he has posted a few times on these rights.

Sorry to hear your woes @kermit_rr .
I needed to go out in the 38 this morning, key in the ignition, turn and nowt, beep beep and message center says engine disabled, tried again, same thing, panicking now, I tried lock unlock buttons, same so increased panic. Can't remember where the spare key is then remembered it's in the wifes handbag and she's miles away at work.
Tried again by sneaking up to it and no...beep beep engine disabled.
Then I noticed it was in reverse:oops:
.fired right up and away we go:rolleyes::D.
 
heres a question on these ere modern independant suspension jobbies...
in the photo, front left is well off the ground and front right is pumped right up, making it even worse
why is there not an open valve across the axle letting all the pressure into the front left bag? there would be more chance of it reaching the ground!!?

If the left is off the ground, it will be fully extended so no extra pressure needed. There cannot be a lot of weight on the front right judging by the photo. Don't forget the effect of the ARB.
 
You can get a bit of 'flex' like a solid axle motor but with the way the tc system works itl just lock that front left wheel and it'll keep moving, height and pressure wise if theres a percentage between left and right or quick movements or front to back the air suspension wont interfere until its on flat ish ground again
 
There are cross link valves, in that picture if you stopped and asked for a height alteration it would do it but that front left wheel would still dangle,
 
And when you jack one up on 1 corner your still limited by droop on the shock limit anyway, if its in off road height it wont lower the front right lower then off road height
 
In a factory discovery 1 with diff lock engaged in that situation you'd have rear wheel drive and the front drive loss through the wheel dangling by spinning, if it had enough flex and the axle on the ground it would have 4 wheel drive again,
The case of the l322, center diff doing its stuff and the front left wheel locked by the traction control itd be 3 wheel drive,
