What did you do with your Range Rover today

Before i tackle the spare wheel, need to fix the rear screen wash and the headlight wash. Pump works for the rear so must be blocked.. no clue on the lights.. looked for a fuse but not obvious which one

Fink lights only do it 1 time for xx on the screen and only if lights on.

Edit if it’s low on wash it will save it for screen me thinks.

It's not low and they don't work after any amount of presses with the lights on.. so either fuse, blockage or dead/seized pump
 
But.. I'm not sure a stay is needed.. once the wheel is up in the air I'd need to use the tailgate as leverage with hand/knee to lift the wheel onto the tailgate.. at which point it's out and not on the straps

There is no need to lift it you just slide it back onto the tailgate. Then you can get close and personal with it to get it out.

I agree about the BMW lumps.

I seem to recall some sort of flat-pack truck for Africa that used a Ford Transit engine and gearbox foraybe £20k but cannot recall what they named it. Even the engine on that is a bit delicate for Africa in my opinion. It is the emissions stuff that seems to have massively overcomplicated everything.

The TDDi is a joint PSA/Ford motor and is pretty strong. The later TDCi on the other hand is IMO pretty poor with push fit injectors held down in pairs with a cross piece and one puny 8mm stretch bolt which eventually stretches and allows the injectors to bounce. In addition, the glow plugs are nigh on impossible to remove.
 
Sorted my pals td6, air suspension went wild, when tyring to lower it would raise the front, rear wouldnt come up properly,
He had been told by a few folk with 'diagnostics' he needed a compressor or valve block or height sensors,
Not even 10mins with a laptop and using manual control modes found the switch over solonid on the compressor body was jammed so when it tried to exhaust anything it would just send it all straight back through the compressor intake and too the front crossover block,

Took the small solonid out a dead compressor i had sat fitted it checked manual operation up and down on front axle and the rears then cleared faults again all fixed and operational test driven and fault free within 30mins,
 
Coming home tonight, had to brake quite hard.. on the accelerator again and felt a fair thud like a pile of power dumped all at once.
Is that a feature or is something poorly, maybe a mount letting movement somewhere? Up to now everything has been spot on
