What did you do with your Range Rover today

Fixed the heater (sort of) but more details in my other thread for that.
The RR earned it's stripes by doing it's first on call shift for ServKent.co.uk as I am a volunteer bloodrunner. About an 80 mile round trip to collect and deliver platelets from the blood bank to Pembury hospital. We answered the call at 2:42am, were in Surrey by 3:46am and I was back in bed for 5:30am. Hassle free drive and nice and warm too. On the grounds of that I decided it was time to show the bodywork some love.

For those that won't know, I bought this car sight unseen from an auction, it was delivered on 1/9/22 and I've been sorting out the issues for a few weeks so the cleaning wasn't a priority.

I spent £7 on a jet wash (we're on a hosepipe ban in the SE) to clean the shuts and crevices etc. and when I'd finished beating it to death with the stupid hose at the petrol station, I took it home for a second wipe over panel by panel. Used my Bilthhamber clay then machine polished with a coarse cut waffle pad and Sonax fine cut compound then coated with R222 wax. The results I am pretty pleased with for a first pass.

Looks great. Love the piping on the seats.

Not quite today, but at the weekend took her green laning in Wales. Everything was fine until about 15 miles from home whenI I got a on to dual carriageway. All the EAS lights came on and she rose to full height then dropped on to the wheel arches, which is a horrible noise at 50mph. Emergency stop in the near side carriage way, with traffic behind me standing on their brakes! Terrifying few minutes working in the traffic to get the air bags pumped up on the manual bypass valves! The rest of the journey was uneventful until the following day, first day off road and popped an airbag out, up a long rocky lane miles from anywhere - where no one can hear you scream - Thank heavens the two capable mechanics i was with effected a lane side repair and before long we were off again!
Had a great couple of days until Sunday afternoon when she blew a hose. Coolant everywhere! Went off to do another lane while she cooled down. When we returned to her, I made a brew, they took the inlet manifold off to get to the hose. By the time the brew was ready they had repaired it, by the time we had drink our tea the manifold was back on and I was on the road again! So I played safe and drove 4 hours home. She did that without any problems - so that’s a win!

Not today, but just got round to calculating the fuel used on our recent trip back to Blighty.
A bit over 2000 Km without any problem, and Buttercup gave us a shade over 34 MPG so right happy with that.
I tell a lie, there was one problem. Driving down through France on a near empty dual carrigeway after a sleepless night ferry crossing, I suddenly woke up with a jerk and I was half way across the outside lane. Pulled in at the next layby for 40 winks and a can of red bull before setting off again. Good job there was no traffic about, though it was probably just the fact about being relaxed on an empty road that made me drowsy.

I don't like the sound of an oil burner blowing hoses. It shouldn't pressurise that much.

The hose split, most likely because previous owners had worked around it but not re-attached the hose clamp to the bulkhead causing movement near the joint. Luckily the spilt was right by the end of the hose so we could cut an inch off and re-attach it.

Somthing started rumbling today on acceleration only at 25 to 30mph,
Not noticeable at any other speeds
No change with what gear im in or in sport mode,
Same vibration if im light throttle or full throttle
Diffs and transfer box have oil,
Props look okay,
Have a feeling a diff or transfer box will go pop soon,
Im sure il find out what it is when it goes pop, preferably transfer box as i have one sat

Hopefully so, i did get it up on 4stands and put weight on the 4 suspension corners so it was like being on ride height unplugged an abs sensor so it wouldnt interfere and got the girlfriend to hold the brake and keep it at vibration point and went under and everything looks too be running true
