What did you do with your Range Rover today

jumped it off my mates van, parked it out side his hse at 8 this morning jumped in his van and off we went to another mates hse to fix his roof, came back at 5 and the battery was dead, yes, i left my side lights on because it was a bit foggy this morning, weird thing though, the battery was so dead (i got no dash lights up all) when i pressed the key fob all four doors started clicking to each other opening and shutting the poppy up things on there own ( it was like the car was possessed ) so i quickly opened the drivers door when it popped up and then it all stopped, spooky!:D

Tried to trace the fault on my P38a passenger seat. Moved the bugger forward then messages telling me that the seat fuses have blown. Checked them with a multimeter and all are OK. The wiring under the seat looks OK to me as well. Stumped:confused:

Did a unexpected trip from Lincolnshire to Norfolk to Harrogate in Yorkshire and back to Norfolk yesterday! 463 miles averaged 34.8 mpg! And better yet nothing went wrong! Just hopped in her and went (checked oil)

I believe a small round of applause is in order ;)

34.8mpg is off the dash display I guess? Is it chipped? If so that figure will be way out, even un chipped it may be a fair way out. the only way to know is brim to brim checks.

I'll let you know the official figure this evening when I fill it up again been doing the whole brim to brim thing for a while and it's been rather accurate so far give or take a few 0.s

Yesterday it was a quick trip from Bristol to Perth, then from Perth to Glasgow, then back to Perth. Today it was Perth back to Bristol.

Who says that P38s can't be reliable and enjoyable.

I think we should have a thread dedicated to "unexpected long journeys without problem" lol

I think it would become apparent that they aren't really that bad. I did about 460miles the other day not a problem at all. I think I read on the expeditions page on here that people doing 800 mile trips are filling there p38s with spare parts. I'd gladly do that amount of miles with no spares.

I regularly do a 900 mile round trip in my P38 without any issues other than the price of diesel.

I can't remember it ever having let me down ever since I joined this form and started doing all the maintenance myself.

How much was on the back of a big yellow truck lol

Only ever had it on one of those once and that was a split heater hose in the middle of some motorway roadworks. Got it off the motorway, sourced a hose and some anti-freeze, replaced the hose and we were on our way again in a couple of hours.
