With all this battery talk, I've allocated some pampering time to my mf31
I got all scared too so got myself a smart charger that does recovery mode and stuff. Got a good quality conventional charger that I've had since 1982 but you can't leave it connected and I kept forgetting to top up the very expensive 6v Morris 8 battery and it died, a new battery for that cost more than the mf31 and it came dry so another £10 and a trip to get it filled. The 6v is on maintenance mode constantly now.

Never seen cargo nets, not in my 3 nor in any other P38 I have seen and I have seen quite a few.
Im not fibbing:cool:. Elastic has gone weak, won't support the Handbook for example. Headliner will be coming out in the summer for a recover so I'll look at them properly then, either remove them or see if they can be tightened up elastically.

Nobody said you were fibbing, you have an almost unique car:)

Got some too:D. My elastics look slacker than yours:eek:, not sure they were meant to hold a handbook though;)

J
They seem to be defying gravity too but I cant be bothered to sort the original pic:D.

Oh and broke a bloody windscreen jet the little plastic nipple just broke off when I moved the pipe:oops: So will steal 1 off the spares car and see if I can get that 1 off without breaking it (its a 96);).

Nope that didn't work those brittle 26yr old nipples didn't make it either:eek:, slightly different design too, more on the shopping list:).
managed to push the pipe over the bigger section with a little warming;) must remember not to push the "wash screen" that could be a challenge:oops:.

Got me reflective heat shield on but not too happy with it so may investigate what's on the spares car:D to see if its in better nick. All the foil material seems to be disappearing off the existing 1s and then they just seem to be just a fluffy piece that seems to disintegrate;)

2001 on the left. The 1 on the right should have a nipple pointing out, its still in the piece of pipe;)

And I only have a couple of new scars on my hands:eek:.

I think I do:D
Everything works.:D:D:D
Except the bulb in the clock:rolleyes:
She doesn't leak oil or water (sorry @kermit_rr )
Starts instantly hot or cold.
No water leaks in 'cept a very small amount into the boot wheel well that I can't trace.
I think the sound system (original) isn't as it should be but, compared to the ice in me tratter 110, is very acceptable.

I replaced the bulb in the clock with an ultra bright red LED, it will not fail again in my lifetime:D

Did you not read @DanClarke leaking sunroof rear drain fred:)

J
I did, I read everything on here.
Mine leaked really bad when I first took ownership and it was a combination of hard compacted pine needles all around the aperture but mainly the top and a seal that had stuck itself to the part that fits over the steel edge of the aperture. A hose pipe test confirmed success but that was 5 months ago. I've not been in there since then until last week when I saw a very small amount. Bit weird really because all the tyre was wet like condensation rather than a leak.
I'll check it out again in the summer when I redo the headliner and remove the centre console plastics for repaint. Probably fix the clock bulb and check out the rippon thing on the HVAC display as that sometimes loses characters but it's fine when some heat gets in the cabin or it's a mild day, it just doesn't like cold damp days. Forgot also, my mileage display is also weak on the far right hand side, readable, just, but weak, would that be a bulb gone or a dodgy connector?
Unlike the HVAC display, that mileage one doesn't get better with warmth.

Red? All the dash etc red too?
Thought about fitting LEDs in all the interior and puddle lights at some point. I remember seeing puddle lights somewhere for sale that beamed the LR logo onto the ground, dunno what model they were for though. Thought they were cool but as I've got older now, not so much:oops:

The puddle lights are, or used to be, on Ebay. Not interested in changing the interior lights, but I may change the dash illumination to red LED's if I ever have to remove the binnacle, red is better for night vision. Works well for the clock.
