Gave the MAF another thorough wash through with isopropyl alcohol, fitted the new IACV that arrived today (connector 90 degrees out of orientation but cable reaches and mechanically identical), got the exchange set of plug leads from the garage under warranty and fitted them.
Started first turn of the key and no instability, straight to 1500rpm, climbed to 2000. Checked under bonnet, cruise control cable end had got slightly dislodged, reseated it, revs dropped instantly to idle. Idle stead as a rock at 750ish rpm on the counter, everything quiet, engine the most stable and still we have ever seen it, if it wasn't for the draught from the fan I reckon I could balance a coin on the plenum.
Planning to take for a run later on to see if now happy on the road and lost the hot cutting out / non-starting too.
On to the next task...
Wife currently making some gaskets to reduce / eliminate the water that drips onto the engine through the washer jet mountings.
Maybe use the existing cigarette lighter. That's what I did with mine.Keith, where did you make your connections for this handy -and tidy - "mod" please?
You mean you shoved a bit of old wire down the spade connector and wrapped the other end around the usb connection and wedged it in place with a bit of cardboard? the proper landy wayMaybe use the existing cigarette lighter. That's what I did with mine.
