Oil arrived just now for the diffs, gearbox is done, so what's left of the Dex lll will go in the transfer box.

I have an HP24, just don't fancy the job of fitting itAnother issue with the Hp22 is wear on the stator shaft this explains the common problem with the trans losing forward movement during an emission test with Diesel P38s they rev the engine to redline during the test. if the stator shaft and sealing rings are worn, running the engine at above 2,000 rpm in Park or in Neutral lets the converter oil partially apply forward clutch which is the A clutch drum, instantly destroying it. The quick thinkers at ZF fitted hardened shafts to the HP24..
I was there onceOOh just noticed I was on 2,999 posts
I wouldn't fancy iteither unless I had a pit or lift available!I have an HP24, just don't fancy the job of fitting it
Grovelling or what.Made a P38 friend at work. I shall call him Sebastian. Walking back to my bus and see him pulling up. Some highly decorated navy officer. Naturally I hit him with "nice car, sir." To which he says "not as nice as yours."
So that's it, friends for life. Me and Sebastian.

I have a shallow pit but having dropped the gearbox, I'm not sure how I would get it out from under the car. I'll have to bite the bullet and do one day.I wouldn't fancy iteither unless I had a pit or lift available!
Might be better to do it on the ground with her on axle stands, you can get some good height..I have a shallow pit but having dropped the gearbox, I'm not sure how I would get it out from under the car. I'll have to bite the bullet and do one day.
Think motorbike lift with wheels was the recommended tool as long as you have a flat surface for it to roll on.I have a shallow pit but having dropped the gearbox, I'm not sure how I would get it out from under the car. I'll have to bite the bullet and do one day.
