It's Betty Swallocks I don't like.I don't like hot nuts
Tell him he can av a can when he’s finishedHaha the spanner was getting uncomfortable
Then sell it'one' wishes to 'waft' along not bounce like a tratterer..
Peasant
And park it on its roof. Then sell it
I’m high up on flotation tyres. Could drive over speed bump, a tratter and his family, on a bend not even feel it .
Emotionally or physically
Finally got the bastid heads off, without (quite) breaking fingers, sockets, etc. Couldn't find the fork stanchion so substituted with 3 feet of 2" box steel. Still only JUST enough leverage for most of the bolts, although a couple each side were barely nipped up it felt like. Did get an impact socket set to use, then discovered that on the deeper set end sockets inside the rocker the socket was bulky enough to wedge solid and take some unjamming.
And got all the tappets out - all look evenly cooked, not overdone. No scoring, snug fit, no excess wear at the base or on the cams.
So at the end of the day I was here.
Both heads off, looking not too bad although still to clean and check for any distortion.
Left (OK) side
And right side where there were the 2 cylinders with effectively zero compression
And the low compression had good cause

Although it probably doesn't need them, we've already bought them, so it will be off to the shop next week for all new valves and guides, just to be sure.
Couldn't spot where the pressurizing of the coolant was happening, but the right gasket was slightly loose on the block where the left was secure, so I am guessing a slight seep between block and gasket at the front end.

next time you'll do it all in a day.
Very pleased it looks to be just that. Had a quiet day today and pretty much left it alone, so haven't cleaned / checked for true yet. That will be tomorrow. Looking at the head pictures though I think there was a slight wide but pale burn at the water passage end of number 8, so that was probably the pressurising on the coolant. That's a big clue, bet you were relieved when you found it.
Trying to get the injectors off to clean and service / replace as required, plus cleaning out the injector rail.
Taken the clip off, the injector should just pull straight out of the fitting on the rail right? Mine don't seem to want to move. Turns round but won't pull out. GEMS engine, was contemplating the Bosch injectors as a replacement if necessary, but from the specs I have seen the Bosch injectors are too short to fit the spacing between the port and the rail on the GEMS engine? Clip to tip length seems to be about 55mm, specs for the Bosch show the EV6 injector to be 49mm for the same points, so I presume they will only fit the Thor motors?
Never mind - overnight soak in plusgas seems to have freed them. And ordered a full upgrade new set - will report how they go although with 2 extra cylinders working for us it may be less clear what is down to the injectors and what down to the engine.
Suspect we will be looking for USS Enterprise decals - it is going to feel like a starship compared to before!
I've tried fixing the phone. So will take some more tomorrow.that fuzzy cant tell whet tractor is
Can definitely feel I've done something!! I suppose it will feel betterer once I've done the other side so they both matchRadius arm back on and done up with 3 new arm to axle nuts. Yes, 3!! The first one stripped it's own thread while i was doing it up with the regular ratchet, wasn't right enough to struggle with the torque wrench (longer than the rachet)
