What did you do with your Range Rover today

As usual I did little but drive her. However, she's had a full service, a flush, new latches on lower tailgate, brakes cleaned, all fluids and filters checked, CD player replaced and other bits n bobs that I can't remember right now. So the Golden Girl continues. Just waiting to see what happens tomorrow re ignition problem as I have left radio fuses in.

A useful weekend - my central locking on the P38 now works perfectly.
Splashed a little rust converter under the car too, but think I need to do that job with a bit more precision to gain long term benefit from it.
Also tried to convert the dash lights in the heating module to LED, but the little lights are soldered in, so that's a longer job with some workdesk time, so maybe a winter job?
Next big job is to get the air suspension working again - any good writeups of reversing a spring conversion out there?

Just 154miles after fitting turbo and using it again an abs sensors died..
Luckily i have a spare.

No Jules, its that way buddy. I found that too but at least you know its on and those lovely SS clamps i sent you look the dogs mate. Glad you got them on mate. No chance of them ever collapsing and as RangeRollerdt said just slightly different diametre due to no EGR on yours. Stick a bottle of diesel fuel additive in too mate while your at it and give it a good italian service. LOL

Clamps are lovely although too small for the inlet manifold joint. Where did you get them? Might have to order a matching one as my Jubilee clip looks decidedly naff now.

No need for italian tune up! No smoke out the back and I've done quite a few runs to Manchester and back recently so nicely burnt out and ticking over beautifully.

Only slight annoyance is my oil cooler pipes are weeping ever so slightly so had to wash that off prior to the MoT test thia week. Someday they will need replacement.

Plenty of people have done it. First job is tick off what you have to what is in RAVE.

There regular bulbs which are replaceable and orange LEDs soldered onto the board, which are you trying to replace?

Depending what’s there shouldn’t be too difficult. Your best leave it on coils til you refurb all the workings, then put the air springs back in and get your diagnostics on it. Could put the springs on first with inflation valves but most work is to sort out before airsprings are relevant. With a bit of luck most of your checklist may still be there

Some more cleaning and fettling.
Replaced the broken bonnet release catch lever in the footwell.
Water trickling into the spare wheel well from the back somewhere so need to do the flange / seal / re-work and see how it proceeds. At least with the bung out it will just drain straight through. Will also have to trawl and see if the rear washer hose has broken / split and is part of the problem, since that doesn't wash.
Replaced the accumulator this morning, that has sorted the warning lights on starting to brake issue and stopped the pump running so much, but obviously takes quite a lot of fluid as then got low brake fluid warning bing / message on test drive.
Driving much better than it was, just need to order the EAS compressor overhaul kit and at some point do the full compressor / solenoid block overhaul to quieten that side down.
Did some electrical tests - looks like I might need to replace the main earth / alternator cables as quite a volt drop on them.

I believe there is a little one way valve on the rear washers that can stick.

Yep - was checking RAVE this evening - should be somewhere behind the left boot side panel. If that has been leaking into the sound matting under the carpet then rolling 110lbs of wheels in there could well have squeezed some water out of it. Still need to check the rear seal though.

The clamps were supplied with the hoses Jules and i have a new pair of oil cooler pipes buddy going in my list of P38 bits albeit i think you did mention yours was a manual and these are for an auto box. I would have thought they were the same but maybe not.

New logbook just arrived from DVLA so just assigned my private plate to my new L405. Good to go now albeit when it stops raining. LOL. Just waiting for DHL delivery now which is my new SVO front spoiler kit arriving today. Get that fitted later and she will look the bollox up front end. LOL. They also do an upgraded rear SVO bumper with the 2019/20 exhaust outlet tips but it involves replacing the entire bumper which i don't fancy doing TBH so i might just pass on that upgrade for now.

Well i have fitted my new front SVO spoiler kit on my L405. Looks the " dogs ". If anyone else with an L405 would like the same kit for their car it comes either in Santorini Black, Corris Grey or just primed so you can have it painted to match your cars colour. Just let me know and i can pass on the sellers details for you. They also do SVO rear bumpers too for L405 and a side skirt kit but i ain't bothering with those. " FOR NOW he says ". LOL. With removal of the old trim and cleaning up around those area's before re-fitting it took me a couple of hours in slow time and thank god for my lift ramp. made it soooo much easier to do. BEFORE & AFTER pics. I love the fact the lower spoiler grill matches the top Autobiography grill too. A nice touch.
