changed the leaky rad on my 322.

had a slow 1ltr a month leak.

glad to know the old one deffo needed changing, it looked fecked ! lol

could only really see the leak after i removed the fan and casing surrounding the rad.

Job done :)

I'm halfway through removing the heads on my P38 4.6. Got the nearside head off. Had a little faff about with the heat shield on the manifold but managed it in the end thanks to my mate the Grinder!!! The combustion chambers on the head were very clean I guess that's one of the benefits of LPG, the downside is after 90k miles of LPG use the valve seats have seen better days. I poured some petrol into the combustion chambers and sure enough one of the inlet valves started leaking. This will explain a lot of my rough running issues with it effectively back firing back up the inlet. So tomorrow I'll remove the offside head as I have a suspicion I also have a dud valve on that side to. Then it will be off to the machine shop for the necessaries and hopefully all good. I have to thank my Nanocom for narrowing down the valve issues without it I'd of been lost.

Take it off with the manifold attached easiest way

I would of liked to but there's one head bolt which is obstructed by the manifold and I couldn't get a good access with the tools I had at my disposal. I'm hoping when I do the offside one I can get access to the bolts OK otherwise I've going to be faffing about removing steering linkages.

Nowt, got some new wax so when the battery gets sorted (t'is defo dead) she will be gleaming. The Mk3 rF should be here on Monday, maybe Tuesday. So no rush to get the battery replaced. Weekend of detailing.

Changed the leakoff pipes again !! Have tried main stealer pipe and I am on my third motor factor. If they made Durex out of the rubber they use for the pipe then there would be some very happy women in the world. It goes HARD with age

Woo, got a new battery, not from BatteryMegastore, they are cocks who are trying to refuse a refund and are also very rude to deal with when you mention wanting money off of them, pretty much put me off every wanting to deal with them again. Originally I wanted to exchange the Alphaline up to something with a known reputation and pay the difference. The second I said the batteries were worthless I got torrent of abuse from the manager (the kid who answered the phone put me through to him when I said it was the second failure).

Should get the new rF from the local LR dealer soon so not going to fit the Bosch unit purchased locally -support your local economy- until that rocks up.

Then did some stationary checks, tire pressures, oil levels, etc. you know, the boring stuff no one likes doing.

Got a phone call from my personal Land Rover Assistant (I believe her name was Haley). The YWY500170 is a restricted part and a request has been put in with JLR for a part to be released. ETA is early October...

SatNav broken??;)
If I tried to use SatNav it would be double that with all the diversions for the new Tours/ Bordeaux TGV line. I found a long time ago that SatNav is pretty useless in France as they keep building new roads and railways that the SatNav doesn't know about:rolleyes:
We live a long way from town:D
Just a thought, in the UK they are talking about HS2 taking 13 years to build, here they are building a similar length of high speed line in 4 years according to the publicity.

With money donated by the rest of the EU no doubt. EU is nothing more than a French benevolent fund.

Because if anything is worth doing in the UK, it is worth doing over time, over budget, not fit for purpose and cause as much disruption to the population as possible.
