what can i use to sort it????

Hi all

my disco 2 td5 steering pump has gone tits up with a leak

ive taken it to bits all seems well no wear etc and bearings and seals all seem ok

it was just the gasket in the middle that was shot

what can i reseal it with?? paper gasket? loctite of some kind,?silicon?

the seal it had was a kind of plastic gasket with some kind of sealant on it but i dont have one of them nore can i find one so whats next best thing ,if i dont need to i def dont want to buy a new one

any one help please???

I've made two gaskets one gasket paper and hylomar
and the other i got the original gasket peeled all the old silicon off it and replaced that with hylomar

hopefully one on these will do the trick ,But which shall i try first???

went with oriiginal gasket backing with some hylomar on it ,seems to be holding ,time will tell lol
(just drove 10 miles and no leaks YET)

Forget that its now leaking like a seive again !!!! will try paper gasket tomorrow !!! only needs to last a week or so as new one on order
