Hi guys

I think i have made the wrong choice with buying and fitting the Terrafirma TF204 lift kit to my 90, i tried covering all option's with buying this kit as i want to off road my 90 aswell as use it as an every day car and tow a trailer every now and then, anyway whilst off roading two weekends ago we found the springs to be too stiff and stopping the axles from articulating properly then read up and was told fitting lowered rear shocker mounts and lowered turrets would help sort this but later told it won't

ok so now i am thinking of replacing the Terrafirms springs for Britpart springs but keeping with the Terrafirma shockers, i also have 265 special track tyres fitted which used to rub on the arches with the original suspension which i think was worn out anyway hence reason for replacing the suspension :(

so is it possible for anyone to advise me on what Britpart springs i need that will give good axle articulation off road and at the same time be ideal for towing and using it as an every day car :)

i also have rear dislocation cones fitted aswell :)

Have you still got anti roll bars fitted. I'm not sure you will get everything you want, off road springs won't really give you good road or towing abilities. Try speaking to M and M 4x4 they were helpfull when I bought my set up. Just a heads up Britpart springs? Mine sagged after a few weeks and I replaced with Bearmach ones.

swop the h/d springs for medium duty, or even light for off road then you'll get the suspension travel back, or as jm said the police springs give a decent lift and are soft so allow upward travel

Hi john, is that for Terrafirma springs or BP springs as the rears in Terrafirma are the same but differ for the front TF023V for the rears and TF018 for the front in Terrafirma springs, all shockers are the same.

or am i best going for the minimum suspension kit TF201 TF014 front springs and TF015 for rear springs still the same shocks

Britpart rangie springs. Had them on a 90 and they give a nice lift and work really well off road. Remember the rears were nrc4304 but not sure of fronts. Will have a look.

Probably stick 4 of them on. They're the same poundage as the standard front 90 ones but a couple of inch taller.

if you've already bought the heavy duty ones, can you not swop them with the supplier

Trouble is they have already been fitted and used inc off road at silverdale so don't think they will have them back now :(

i know its me that's cocked up and don't mind buying a new kit and selling the other's on even if its at a loss just want to get mine sorted with better performance :)

I fitted the terrafirma +2 med duty springs on my truckcab, they,ve been ok, but do tend to crash into bumps, probably a bit firmer than ideal

Yeah tbh i thought we did well considering it was our first time more or less on an off road site for years aswell as its our first defender aswell, new suspension was great just a bit dispointed with the axle travel but ha ho :)
