Right, i may or may not be there. The wheel bearing change has done fook all, still a horrid grating noise when turning left and the brakes are more or less not there. bollix!

Do we know what time people are meeting at?
As far as Freelander recovery points go, The front one is a single bolt on affair so i MAY be able to fit something after market on before Saturday if i can find something that fits. The rear one is a weld on job just like a normal car and there are two more on the rear axl, Best not get too stuck!

firstly - its sunday mate, dont go turning up on saturday!
i have a jate ring spare if you want it - so if you take out one of the front points i will throw my jate ring on
regarding the rear - if you cant get anything solid on we will just have to go easy on the recovery side, you should be ok
ask people round your way what time they are meeting. i will be driving up from south wales on the sunday morning, so i will be there for 9 - 10ish if all goes smoothly

update on mine- tried(& failed) to remove the steering drop arm tonight- any one got any top tips to remove the bloody thing!!??

BUy a noo steering box they int that expensive.. by the time you've fooked about with it you'll wish you had anyway. Failing that take it somewhere with a 10 tonnes press and get them to remove it for you.

Take whole steering box to local ingineering place then and get it pressed off.

looking to get a complete box, as the one fitted has play on the shaft bearing and is leaking like a cockermouth river.
i would rather change it now rather than mess around with the drop arm/box twice when it fails in a months time.

Have fun tomorrow guys. Didn't manage to get the landy fixed today, one chuffing bolt wont come undone! All i have left to do is get the bugger off and fill with one shot do it up, put brake caliper back on bleed brakes and jobs a goodun.
