Not the usual p38 problem infact the car performed perfectly down the motorway to Brighton the problem was parking, £4:50 per hour fect that got back in the car with the family and came home again.

Stopped for lunch in a small country pub who I'm sure was glad of me spending my money their instead of helping the hard pushed workers of Brighton to stay in business.

That's another place crossed off the list of family day trips and it wasn't just me either loads of people ranting at the parking meters that wouldn't take money and the cost of it

Rant over :screaming_bug_eye_f

Should have gone to Cardigan. (Daily Moan! yesderday) Apparently vandals smashed all four parking meters in Cardigan's main car parks last month, custom in local stores soared by up to half. So a shopping boom in a town where parking meters are ALL out of action.
Sounds like the machines will be out until September. The hard pressed council can't afford to replace them and hopefully when they do the vandals may be back!
Cardigan is a nice West Wales coastal town with a Norman castle too. Delighted shopkeepers are doing loads of busines..... Should hapen everywhere and get our local shops busy again!

Blimey, I haven't been to Cardigan since I was a child. Lovely place though. We used to spend our summer holidays out that way.

Silly thing is they think they can just rip off the tourists and charge what ever they like er no we just won't go their again.

I use to do a weekly bike run to hastings 20 odd bikers every week until they introduced a parking charge for bikes which for years was free, pay and display on a motor bike right.

Havnt been back in 4 years

I thought it was free if you went further down towards Hove rather than near the pier?

I was amazed at the parking charges in Worthing where my kids live, being on French plates, I did what the French do, parked on the pavement where they couldn't get at the car to lift it and parked free of charge. Ticket on the screen went in the bin.:)

I'm in Bridlington as I type, parking on the front in 2 very large grass car parks is £2.90 ............ 'All Day' :) Nice walk along the promenade, easy for our sons disabled push chair, easy for the dogs! It gets dearer when you get right in to the centre of course.
Going to be even cheaper today as we are planning on walking from the caravan site :)

Many Kent and Sussex areas are too expensive. ..even our local car park in tonbridge is nearly a tenner for the day ...Brighton. .Hastings etc ...I give em all a miss now and drive costal Road to smaller bays and park up nothing ....today I'm taking Mrs and kids Leysdown to give my autobox and work out after servicing ..free parking if u drive as far as the coast road will take you an empty beach....bring ya wellies and get searching the beach with the kids for all sorted seafood and durex lol....

Used to go out with one of these modern art students birds in brighton great summer
that was, £4.50 is mental though most people go for a pot of cockles and go home.

@ datatek Genius love that idea !

I have a customer right near the sea front in Bridlington, and to be fair even on that paved car park in the middle of town its only £4 a day and you can pay by card! Quite reasonable I thought.

The worst I ever came accross was in central london where the parking was sold by the 3 minutes, at a cost of 20p per 3 minutes now I admit that's less than £4.5 an hour which is appalling but the fact that it was sold by the 3 minutes!
