well done tc90.i bet the previous carb owner has put the jets in wrong,or he has been poking them with a bit of wire or even worse a tiny drill bit to try and clean them out.:mad:
 
i think they have been drilled or poked out with something, prob like gas welding files or something, ah well, am off to craddocks this week to pick another carb up, shame really , i was getting a bit of good progress this last few weeks,
 
well, a new webber carb solved the running issues nice and easy,

started wirin up the dynamo and voltage regulator

have been using split conduit for the rewire, as you can always add another few wires later on

aye now thats comin along lovely but just a little question

in pic 1 does the wire from the dynamo need some kind of heat shield from where it passes the exhaust downpipe or is it ok to just have it clipped to the wing when its fitted ??

its a little concern i have on my landy too :confused:

iv clipped it to the wing , seems far enough away
 
absolutely first class! your write up has been a real help to me as i've just finished restoring a 1971 series 3. your in depth photos and descriptions have made my restoration so much easier. thankyou thankyou thankyou.!:)
 
just new to computers and to landys was just gonna sand and paint now gonna strip down a bit more restore the parts you cant see tanx for the inspiration
 
yesterday we fiished the wiring, put all the bolts in the body,
stripped and rebuilt the lucas wiper motors and wired in, ajusted clutch, just the dash to fit, tidy few wires up and final ajustment of brakes then its off to the mot man tuesday.
