Hi all,

I'm reaching the end of my 200 TDI conversion :) :D

Is there anyone out there interested in a small welding job for beer tokens? I need my radiator mounts rewelded lower so that the rad pack fits.

Might be able to get down to Washington within the next couple of weeks depending how things here progress.

Will get back to you soon.

How desperate are you? I live about 1 1/2 hours away could come up at a push. When I did mine I spent hours scratching my head after reading all the posts in here, cut out the 10mm re welded the brackets back on only to find the rad was 10mm to low, measure the rad first!

I'm not desperate at the moment. I still have oterhs jobs to do. I decided to get some new engine mounts as mine have seen better days. I'm waiting on a new exhaust, rad and silicone for the intercooler pipes. So there is not shortage of other jobs to keep me busy.

I might get some help off one of the new members (LandyFox) who is near me with a welder - just we don't have a clue how to use it, but I'm sure I can sort something.

New rad is defo too high - I can't secure the bonnet on the central lock but I have the military clamps on the side so it's still secure. I would say it needs to drop about 20-30mm to be able to use the original 2.5D rad brackets. My plan is to drill and tap the top of the frame to put in some m8 threaded bar, that will do for the brackets on the top - can always spot weld these to lock them when the welder is here.

I've not had time to do much lately but I'm going to get it all measured up properly today.

Hi Guys,

I had a few offers of help from members - thanks guys. Turns out one of my neighbours has all the gear, so he's going to do it for me tomorrow. It's getting quite exciting now as the end is in sight!

Cheers.
