Looking to see if theres anyone in the lanarkshire or central Scotland area who could weld some new front outriggers onto my 90? I will pay of course and shower you with brews and sandwiches.

Took it in for its mot today (thankfully not expired till Sunday so I've got time) and the gents put 'front outrigger suspension component mounting is deliberately modified which significantly reduces the original strength'.

Well for a start its not a suspension component lol and its certainly not deliberately modified, its rusted through :p.

Anyway any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in Hamilton if that's any use but will travel.

I'd take any help I can get as welding is something I haven't a clue about. I'll be happy to buy some gas if that's what's needed

I seem to have probs sending PMs

For future reference I've been using a mobile guy from Strathaven. You have to tell him exactly what quality you want. I just wanted totally solid and didn't care how it looked on the inside. Kept the cost down.

I can pass on the number if anyone wants.

Yeah go for it, can never hurt to have a number like that to hand

Hi there,
I'm a newbie on here, just got hold of a disco 1, based west of glasgow.
however the boot floor, boot floor side panels, wheel arches and rear body cross member all need replaced.
I have started cutting them out apart from the rear body cross member (don't want it falling apart).
my question is does anyone have any suggestion of where to go to get the sheet metal fabricated and welded in? as I don't fancy paying the cost of the individual panel from the likes of paddocks.
I'm very much a novice with all this stuff therefore dont have the skill or kit to do this work.
Any thoughts or advice would be great.

Stew

I shall head there now,

I based in Balloch, your right it can be a large place sadly doesnt always have what you need at hand
