And of course it had nothing to do with the fact that it was British soveriegn terrartry, with British citizens living there. Or the fishing rights. Or the mining rights. Or the oil / gas? Or the stategic importance of having a militory base in the south pacific?

Plenty of parts of London are a ****hole. But you'd still expect any goverment to protect them from foriegn invasion?
