hi I thought for £25 it's worth a punt, the OBD is corroded a bit I have cleaned best I can even have the plug out now, is it possible to buy the plugs prewired and solider the wires Andy.
I did not say it affects ECU operation, only access to ECU's at least that's what I meant. However, shorts due to corrosion on the OBD connector can certainly cause problems with some ECU's.Thanks for all your reply's I though the OBD socket was just for reading ECU's, how would it affect the ECU operation Andy
Have you ever had the EAS software working?hi well eas bypass valves arrived so I have airbags working now, eas ecu came fitted no different, OBD plug cut off new socket soldiered heat shrink no change, any more ideas world be helpful thanks Andy.
Hi I have a 1999 p38 diesel, I've got abs light, traction control, SRS airbag lights up, plus no heater working at all and no EAS lights on, this has happened a few times now but soon goes off, I have replaced alternator with a refurbished BMW one seemed to work for a bit happened again, replaced EAS timer relay worked for a bit again, then it started to say alternator fault replaced regulator and bush's on my old alternator refitted and I've got 13.8 volts I know it should be 14.2 but that's better than it was, this morning hard to start car air bubbles in clear fuel line once start bubbles go as if pump not working, new battery on order as only 11.7 volts at battery, could it be a bad earth or fuse box any help would be grateful Andy.
A Shogun will be my choice when I win the lotterywell after all my faults I bought a Shogun and left the range rover standing outside carport just moving it every now and them, after about 6 weeks untouched started first time left to run about 10 mins all faults go, I've spend loads of money and time and it seems all it wanted was nice weather, but can't cope with all the problems she keeps throwing at me so will have to go thanks for all the advice from members Andy.
I've had 2, never a moments troubleNot too expensive it's 13 years old 197000 miles full service history and everything works perfect, not as nice ride as the range rover would have gone for a landcruiser but too much money, I loved the range rover but it's nice to know when I get in the I haven't got to worry about anything Andy.
hi do you mean shogun or range rover.
I had to get rid of my last Pajero as I couldn't register it in France, after a Citroen XM I bought a Renault Espace, not good, I chopped that for a Hyundai Galloper which is a Pajero made under licence. I had that for 5 years, totally reliable but the engine was reaching end the of it's life, so I made the mistake of PXing it for a Nissan Xtrail, a big heap of ****, I lost so much money on it that the only 4 x 4 I could afford was a P38so why did you buy a rangy then, I think I bought it with my heart and not my head Andy.
