Treacle has a far higher viscocity rate I'm reckoning.
Dependant on temp? Chocolates a solid at room temp therefore more viscous

where would power be lost
there lies the design faultIgnoring my money making plan I thought they were designed/geared for the front wheels to turn faster than the rear, to make it handle like an idiot proof front drive car? This difference was lessened in 2001, supposedly meaning less breakages? And the VCU was meant to take up the difference as well as provide 4x4, this is why you should put your newer bigger tyres on the back. So when the VCU seizes the difference gives huge wind up, more than on say a classic with one and it self destructs! That's how the on road torque split works

TC would deal mainly with side to side slip VCU with front to back!?!?
Gents this is all nonesense, clearly the most sensible fluid with which to recondition a VCU is Dingo ****. Ask any ozzy.
Given the choice, in the jungle, starving, I'd rather suck chocolate out of my VCU than Dingo **** any day
TC all four
VCU front to back
Yes but I'd imagine the VCU would make front to back minimal as it more or less locks solid like a diff lock
no, it dunt work like that. it's a power splitter
it was a mistake ,driving front wheels slightly faster to give mondeo man feeling of normality, rr borgwarner is great bit of designGents this is all nonesense, clearly the most sensible fluid with which to recondition a VCU is Dingo ****. Ask any ozzy.
On a serious note though, I really do think that they are a neat piece of mechanical design and not just the "bodge" solution that people seem to ascribe to most of the Freelander's systems. Does anyone really seriously believe that "some guy got his maths wrong" with the different diff ratios? No word of a lie I had a Land Rover parts "specialist" tell me that. Hosh and tosh, and alot of bosh too. Like most opinion surrounding these cars .
hows that workno, it dunt work like that. it's a power splitter
