got a warn 8274 a few week ago, but didn't like the winch tray and bumper that came with it

as you can see it ticks out to far :eek:

so time to make a new one :D

need to cut the grill so i can sit the winch tray 2 inch further back

as you can see i got the measurement wrong for the bracket to the chassis :confused:

time to test fit the winch, see if the hole for the bolts line up

the only advice i would offer m8 is dont mount the side toobs at an angle as in your picture it will ruin the look of the front

on my last fender pete made me front bumper and got is high up and far back as poss

I don't blame you for not liking the old one, that would have the approach angle of a bus :D

very nice work you done!! if i could work out how to post pics i would show you how i done mine my 8274 sits back where your rad/intercooler is at the mow and is covered by the standard 90 grill!!!

all i need now is a swivel recovery eye & shackle and a synthetic winch rope (next month may be)
 
be careful with those swivel eyes some are really nasty and I wouldn't tie a shoe ;ace to them the ones with the big thick steel mount that has the swivel eye in it is the best type Ive seen but you cant beat a decent fixed tow point D Ring Ball or hole for a shackel

sorry the swivel eye is just for hooking up the winch line, to keep it out of the way. its not to recover from :D like you say not safe.
