the solenoids are shoot on both
i did say they were both 8ton
they both have wire

Are you sure they are both 8 ton?
That cable looks looks like 5/16 which is way to thin for 8 ton.
From memory 8274's are only rated at around 3.6 ton???????

too late - he's gorn.
I rekon so.
8000lbs would be 3628kgs or 3.628 ton.
An 8 ton winch would be around 17000lb and would need a winch diameter of around 13mm.
And 8274's come with 5/16 wire as standard, im fairly sure they wouldnt stamp the unit 8tonne and then send it out with 8000lbs wire.
luck then so y you running mine down y go one
dont under stand y peeps comment for no reason
the trick is to give as good as you get and dont bite, thats exactly what you did when "Drivel" goaded you in, you bit and then everyone sensed it was easy!
Regards your winches. You have to remember that there broken, not working, in complete. just because they could work again isnt the same as "looking abit shabby, bit of rust, a few dents BUT fully working" They just dont work and they look tired.
Personally, an 8274 isnt worth the £500 they go for on ebay anyway. there is a much better source for 8274's if you know where to look. but each to there own.
My advice to you, repair them yourself and sell them on ebay. you will get the money you want for them when they are repaired.
good luck.
