I have a 90 200tdi, and its got a horrible nosedive situation going on with the suspension.

The springs are blue, the rears are HD and possibly +2", the fronts don't seem to be HD and the front sits a lot lower that the rear.

I have a D44 winch bumper, warn 9.5xp and steering guard in the front, I daresay this weight isn't helping.
I also have leaky pro comp shocks right round so will be replacing these too.

What springs are available? I'm looking at going for standard height, non HD springs right round, and was going to use standard shocks.

-Do I need HD on the front to counteract the winch/bumper weight?

-If I run HD on the front, will I need HD on the rear for handling purposes? Had a brief look on paddocks but could only find HD springs for the rear.

thanks

My 110 had a 2" lift on front/back (bigger springs/shocks on the rear and spacers on the front) However this made it sit with a nose dive. Once I got it I decided to go back to normal- changing the rear springs and shocks. As I haven't got the front spacers off yet and lower springs on the rear the Landy now sits straight and level.

Id then have hd's on the front and saggy ones on the rear.?

The HD's would most likely carry the extra weight and compress less 'cos of the weight to bring it level .. perhaps!

All you can do really is to swap springs about. Nackered shocks and saggy springs, as you put it, won't help anything.

As it is now you appear not to know what's fitted. You also say you have leaky shocks and dunno what rate springs or size they are .... I'd suggest getting a 'proper' matched set of springs and trying them, without the shocks on, to try the level of the vehicle. Nackered shocks can have different effects of different corners, but you won't know what effect or how much. Removing them just allows it to sit on springs alone without outside influences so you get a truer indication.

If you were closer to Doncaster I have a (spare) set of standard weight and height springs, a set of standard height HD springs and a set of +2" HD springs .. you'd be welcome to try different sets ... ;)

I switched the front and rears earlier this week. the front now sits up a lot more than before, and the rear is sitting down just a touch.

Popped over to the neighbouring farm to grab some measurements from their standard defender, Im toying with getting a brand new standard suspension kit now to be honest.

Called by First Four in Exeter while I was down that way yesterday, almost came from there with a medium duty Terrafirma +2 suspension kit, but couldn't make my mind up and in the end left it.

I have 33-12.5-15 tyres on so that's giving me a fair bit of ground clearance. I don't want my 'fender to be jacked right up, hence toying with standard setup now.
