Well put, the amount of effort you guys put in is way above and beyond what anyone else does, and if the usual suspects are still bitching I think they should remind everyone how many newbie laning trips they have personally organised in the last two years....
And you guys are all invited for a laning weekend in Surrey, Darren & I will take you on a tour of our best lanes..

Exactly who has been whingeing, Top Cat - name and shame. I have only seen a couple of comments on here, mainly by Si and myself. Initailly to assist in setting up a commercial venture and since then, my only quibble has been the advertising on here. It has always been, as far as I can remember (about 11:00 today), the general response to anyone advertising was "pay up or shut up". I see no reason why you should be exempt from that sort of response to your commercial activities and advertising. If the rules have changed so that advertising in signatures and on the open forum is OK, then I havent seen it.

trailer was good, managed happy valley crawling and brechfa forest switchbacks with ease. very pleased.

Why when us as a group of friends go out laning get accused of taking all the forum places all the time??? I have never known of a landy zone prepaired and organised event so correct me if im wrong. Landyzone members often complain that the places get filled under a misconception that landy zone organised it. We suggested landy zone have some organised events but drew a blank.
None of our events have been advertised on here and they neither will they be. I wonder how many discussions and photos of pay and play days appear on here with reference to sites and profitable organisations.
As for advertising, my own and several of our vehicles sport the landy zone livery. We wont be removing these for photos on our forum.
I have personally supplied landyzone stickers to friends etc and got involved with the sticker thread on here offering to make them at cost, this is a thread that has been going for yonks that seems lots of people have asked for again that appears to be drawing a blank.
I know you and si have made comment and i dont have a problem with any of them.
We dont want to be responsible for landyzone newbies and then get slatted when something goes wrong hence the formentioned site that appears to cause such offence, perhaps this is a position you could take up as you seem so pasionate about the subject

yu got me confuzzled now TC. what yu and yo mates do is nothing to do with LZ. I do some trips around Basingstoke (redwings usually comes along too [thanks] and Booger, who tried to roll his motor ). Who I decide to invite along is up to me. The same applies to anyone going laning. Sometimes Newbies are welcome, sometimes not. It depends on the lanes that are being driven. None of my trips are "organised" - Everyone is responsible for their own actions. You cant allow dozens of peeps to just turn up, hence why meeting places are usually only PM'd and not publicised. Sometimes it is best to not mention it on a public forum. Of course lots of peeps say "me, me" and then pull out.
As for your comments about pay and play sites being discussed - that is usually by third parties, not by owners - if it is, they tend to get short shrift. Have a quick search for "protrax" and see how that was received.

"We" as a group do what we do for fun and share that with others on here, we thought it a good idea to give the first timers a chance and steer them in the right direction with a little guidance, the costs of a weekends laning isnt cheep as you know having just come back from Wales £250 lighter and several repairs needed on me landy all in the name
of fun. Charging people elswhere to show them the ropes would still cost us as individuals and wouldnt be as much fun as if we where doing it together.we cant see ourselves making money with this other activity, it would even still cost us, but at least we could seperate our fun on here
with the other side else where, It has never been our intention to cause any conflict or to poach any lz members we are and shall remain lzers through and through our selves as this is the best landy site on the web (if you can take the stick
).Anyone we take on our trips with a land rover, will be pointed in the direction of landy zone and will hopefully already have a little to contribute.
