Viscous fan help urgent

Oh, and Wammers, you were right about the cheapo tool. The £15 Fleabay tool bent on the first attempt although in its defence, after straightening and some fairly brutal hammering, it was useful in getting the viscous fan off and more importantly in holding the water-pump still while I torqued up the pulley bolts on reassembly.

If only you'd posted that advice before I'd received it!

With these engines taking a particular dislike to overheating, the parts I wouldn't scrimp on (besides brakes) would be radiator, fan, water pump and thermostat

When you chaps put the fan back on just nip it up
It is designed to always tighten on itself

Next time you won't have a problem!

Its the idiots that over tighten them in the hope it won't fall off
The fact is by doing that you have just made your next attempt over time more difficult with the added benefit or dirt grime and impeding rust !
