Viewing a HSE L322 – Possible Problems

Hi ‘ve just viewed a L322 range rover HSE 2002 and noticed when reversing the drivers mirror doesn’t tilt, down however the passenger mirror moves and tilts when reversing, is this normal?

Also I played around with the air suspension putting the vehicle in high mode and then low. The range rover moved up and down with no problem however. just after I tested the suspension I test drove the vehicle and could hear the pump pumping for a minute or so, again is this normal ?
 
depends what setting you were in before you pulled off, if you were in high or low, when you pull away it will adjust itself, and if you are using the breaks etc it may take a minute of so.

as for the lights, I'm not sure, but i think it is just the passenger one that tilts.

i am sure someone else will confirm it.

then it would have been pumping itself up to normal when you get going. I am not certain, but i think it is the same as the p38 where it will only rise if you haven't got your foot on the break, so if you were pulling away and using the breaks it would have taken a little while to pop up

I have exacly the same model as the one your are looking at.

only the passenger mirror has the ability to tilt down :eek: weired i know !
surly you want both to move. :p

you may have driven the car off before the suspension got back to its normal height, if so i think it pauses the process untill you stop driving.
 
I've now bought the Range Rover however there are a couple of problems with it. When you try to switch on the heated seats light flashes twice
and then goes off, it dose it for both seats and the seats don't heat up.

The air-conditioning,when you push the button the you can heard the engine dip and the clutch klick in but the light on the switch doesn't light up and the air doesn't cool

hopefully theses are easy fixes and any advice would be appreciated

yes the sound is normal. Especially if it's had an LPG conversion where they relocate the pump in a side compartment in the boot which means you can hear it more like in mine. As for the mirror, take it appart and hopefully it should just be a lose connection where someone has bashed it. Either that or one of the little arms that move it has broken or come off. Worth checking the fuses in the glove box too.

Hope you got some money off the asking price with all this stuff wrong with it. Otherwise I'd be tempted to take it back - sounds like there is all sorts of niggles wrong! Seats and AC sound like they are what is technically known as 'knackered'. Hope you saved some cash for repairs!
