very low mpg for series 2, 2A or 3 i dont know

hello everyone


I think I have a Land Rover series 2, 2A or 3.

The miles per gallon is very low and i mean very low at just over one mpg.


Is there any way i can sort this. The Landy is for off roading only.

you must have a hole in your fuel tank!

emm i dont think i do because i brought a new tank about a month ago.

sorry,it was a feeble attempt at humour!there has to be a leak somewhere in the system to be getting that sort of mpg unless you have a hoofing great v8 in it and drive it in 4wd all the time.

I dont always drive in 4x4 but i do alot

try Kirkstyle landrovers in kemmy or a bit further oot the road there is the Drum garage out by Wartle. the mole man in Insch is a bit partial to auld landies as well but he's always busy, he's the only garage owner who said my shabby, noisy, unreliable, smoking series 3 tractor were an "affy nice un"

deepends furry boots you are in the norf east min, there's loads of garage's with fields of old series landies oot the back

when was it serviced last + what colour are the exhaust gasses ?

have you checked, that there are jets in your carb. & does your landy smell of petrol?

not sure of any landie garages down that way but i'm sure there is is plenty!

At 1mpg you don't want to be driving into Aberdeen, you have two good local garages in Banchory, the Station Garage and Banchory Service Station on the main road.
