[Smug Mode = On] Mine works well, I use it to warm the cab up, my hands and my feet [Smug mode = Off]It's a Fender.....How do you tell?
Make sure you drain all the water every night otherwise you may end up with a cracked block if it freezes.nobber
I am going to remove my coolant tomorrow, its a 50% mix with antifreeze and store it until its fixed.
That way i can add and undo bits with just water in just letting it go without having to keep catching my coolant.

To be fair if you're taking car advice from me........not a whole lot more
After cooking an engine due to dodgy stay I no longer run a stat. Rather Freeze me nads off than run a stat ever again!
Sadly thats not foolproof as water can and will go via the bypass hose as its an easier route than the rad and the engine can get very very hot, I know as I have done it.
If you look at the 200 and 300 stat they have an extra spring loaded widget that blocks off the bypass as the stat opens.
Obviously if you blocked off the bypass full time you would be sorted.
Having read that, not sure i was given the correct stat.Sadly thats not foolproof as water can and will go via the bypass hose as its an easier route than the rad and the engine can get very very hot, I know as I have done it.

From what i am reading on here, i can't see me trusting another stat either.I only cook my engine when running her hard and I forget to turn the fan on in low box off roading and my rad is gash... I wonder if adding a new stat would stop even this then? I may give it a go but don't trust any stat lol
On yer way home in mine. The ice inside the windscreen begins to melt just as you arrive at work.
