what does furry stuff round your hoses mean then ?

Would love to say that I could remember to have the empty bottle to hand at the same time that I have my blinding flash of inspiration to check the things- taken me this many years to use the kettle- used to use a pint glass but couldnt fit it under the bonnet at the right angle without spilling half

The furry stuff looks like this...

If ye've got anything like that around yer engine, then hopefully it's an external leak;):D

Many thanks for all help- will check for furry bits in car sometime in next year or so when I remember....

Whilst Im on a roll for asking stupid questions may as well ask another one.....

Have got rust on the bumpers- can i use the black hammerite paint that i did my gate with, to cover it up ?

It's 50/50 not just for the anti-freeze but it also has anti rust propertys in it, but as g-man said you shouldn't need to use that much ANY loss is bad

Again, yes..thats what its for...try and remove as much as you can first...not with the hoover though..

final stupid question ( well for now....)

have seen loads of places now that offer servicing for air con.

Have never had mine serviced in the ten years Ive had it- so question -

1) waste of time & money not necessary ?

2) about to kill the car if i dont get it looked at asap

3) be a good idea but it can wait til i can save up
