Using 20L oil drums

Ok, I know this is probably a daft question so please feel free to rip the p*ss but genuinely interested in others ideas

Bought some 20 litre drums of engine oil and ep90 - what do you use to get the stuff out without it going all over the garage floor?

Am thinking transferring it to old 5L containers before pouring in the engine/axles is a good idea!

i just pour them into a gallon jug ,the drum on its side helps stop it glugging out, though you can get pumps i have some similar to this

Thanks guys

Had looked a rotary pumps, electrical pumps and wasn't sure

Had also thought about just pouring into a jug, but TBH I've cocked up puring oil from a sump tray into a funnel stuck into a 5L can more times than I care to admit to

i use the similar pump as i linked to fill boxes and diffs etc, you can also use the pump from a measuring jug so you know what youve put in

them red hand pumps in the link are usually found in 40 gallon oil drums and every one you see will have the top covered in oil
that ellec pump is a oil slick waiting to happen

that pump that JM posted looks to be your best bet , it screws into your drum and can pump straight int wot you want

For transferring oil I use a funnel and a steady hand, plus kitchen towel in case the DTs set in! Filled my gearbox with a length of hose and a funnel from above by pulling back the rubber gaiter on the gear levers, and a mate inside to pour while I waited below to shout stop! Not perfect but much less mess than an oil syringe, or the hand pumps I'd used previously!

I use a 1ltr oil bottle with the Tube built into the top. stick an extra length of tubimg on and simply squeeze the bottle to force oil up tube into Axle or gear/Transfer Box.
