Unusual sound when starting??🙈

Might be nieve but thinking the noise is just the starter attempting to turn against resistance way beyond its limit?? Will replace if required but it's practically brand new. Gonna order Genuine copper washers just for peice of mind I think 👍

A starter motor is just a heavy duty electric motor. If it can't turn then there no noise.. maybe a slight hum or crackle if there's a bad connection.
I don't know what's on your car but I'm assuming it's pretty bog standard.. pre engaged type with no fancy gearing inside it

Why don't you take the top cover off and check your work and the adjustments? If it was OK before and isn't now then it seems likely a mistake was made.
Did you release fuel pressure before removing injectors, if not it's likely that fuel has leaked into the bores.
I am no expert, just seems like a sensible idea to double check first.

Suppose the obvious question is how to clear the Hydro lock? The above suggestion seems straightforward enough 👌 I've ordered 300ml syringe with tubing so get injectors out ( again 😂 ) then pop tube through at bottom, then drain any fluid??

Do you think I will have to replace copper washers? Like I said, all 5 injectors have just been fully refurbished at Tower Diesels. Don't know if washers where Land Rover or Britpart though 🤔
If you've just replaced them why would they need replacing again?!

Update ( live )

Got Defender trailered down yesterday and I'm now re doing what I done from scratch! First injector out and immediately I notice NO copper washer!! Looks in port and nothing 🤔 Pool of oil next to Injector I think " f**king bet your their " and guess what, it is!🙈 Remember washers where so slippy cause everything is new unlike the cruddy old tips. The bugger must have slipped off!!! Going to check the rest!! So hope I've not damaged anything 🙏

Well at least you have got to the bottom of it.
Crossed fingers that you get it all back together OK and it runs OK afterwards.

Injector 4 out! Wow. Washer had partially folded!! Must have moved after I'd got the tip in and crushed when torquing! All still in one peice just fooked.
