I'll reply to me own last post....It wasn't the usual suspects but the gearbox proper with a bearing gone which I was shown. Back together with a recon (guaranteed), new clutch and flywheel. Strangely quiet and no longer hard to select gears when hot, 'twas a pig before.No, that makes it more expensive.
Having past experience driving an ancient Bedford TK lorry, anything where you don't have to stand up to turn the steering wheel or heave-ho on the pedals is good.
