Thats a good call, a 630R.
That would be great as a tow car also.
10mpg?

Believe it or not because they have so much torque, the chevy-engined cars are actually more economical under normal driving conditions than the RV8 - I drove my Overfinch Disco to Bristol and back - brimmed the tank when we left and mileage zeroed - steady 80 mph on the motorway, and a little bit of traffic driving in Clifton.

We brimmed it when we got back and - hey presto - 22 mpg.

spirited driving can see this fall to 10 mpg but that is no worse than a 4.6 RV8

I wish.......................................biggest regret of my motoring life not coughing up the 16k Walton Motors were asking for the last 630R built - conversion was done in 2003 at the cost of 54000 of Her Majesty's pounds.

52000 miles and absolutely superb to drive.

I was haggling with him about P/X etc - he offered us 6k for my wife's car - so he wanted 10 grand in cash - but the wife wanted to keep the defender so I offered him the derisory sum of 12 grand, which was all I could find spare at the time.

Needless to say he told me to Foxtrot Oscar...................................

However, I was still very keen on it and two weeks later, having been very busy as the only 22-stone rent-boy in Brighton, I had the money.

I phoned him to offer the asking price as it was still on their website - but it had been sold.

I was very sad....................but have since recovered my equilibrium - however if I see another for sale I will buy it - a truly great car.

So is that a 50th Anniversary? I thought they were all green leather & orange wood (which is not really my thing TBH)

As far as I recall they were all to have a special deep blue "micatellic" finish and by all I mean 50th Anniv. Defenders, Discoveries and RRs. I don't remember about the interior trim. The one in this advert is described as being "atlantic blue" which I don't know is the same as micatellic. Point is the little plaque kinds of leaves no room for doubt.
