Hi everyone I've been looking around for some new tyres for my disco 2 155/55/18 I drive mostly roads but use it to tow the horse box out the field once a month any ideas on tyres thanks

Hi Liam, I used General UHP's that I bought from Paddocks. Good tyre in all on-road conditions plus excellent on grass.

My bad 255/55/18 haha I've looked at the general grabber range and I've seen mixed reports seems to be lots of bad comments on the roads in the wet.

when i had 18's on last car, i had Michelin Lattitude's on! they were good, no problems, but you will get loads of different opinions as there is loads of options and prices, Good luck!
 
I've not got money to throw away lol so I'm looking about £100ish a tyre not the best time of year to have to put new tyres on the car.
 
I'm down Norfolk way but visit often upto southyorkshire I'm just after something that's good off road across the fields without making it dangerous on the wet roads or noisy as hell these are the first tyres I've had to purchase for the disco as I've not had it long .
 
If you want a more budget priced tyre, don't ignore the Cooper Discoverer ATR. I had these on for a year and they're a great all round tyre. Not surprisingly they really don't like mud, but I found them excellent on dry tarmac, wet tarmac, 0.5m flooded tarmac (!), grassy fields and on ice and light snow.

I changed them because my D2 is on the portly side (permanently mounted roof tent etc) and bogs down easily, so I fitted some second hand BFG ATs. These live up to their reputation, but they do hit your economy by 2-3 MPG and are a tad noisier than the ATRs.
 
We have 255/65R16 Nexen Roadian A/T, they've been very good on our D2, lasted twice as long as the Pirelli Scorpions we had on before.

Not a headline brand, but we'd buy them again, in fact we have: There's a new set in the stores that we bought expecting these to wear out, but so far they have exceeded the Pirellis by 18 months.

We got a good price from Camskills.

Your size are showing as £79.80 including VAT but without carriage or fitting etc.
