It's a 200tdi lol they're renowned for being noisy as hell. And its actually quieter now, quieter than the 300s we have at work believe it or not. No holes in the exhaust and bar this recent problem it's running perfectly fine. As I said the head gasket could probably do with being replaced though
Nope, before then. I didn't get that fitted until after I started running on veg and it was happening before that. I'm positive it's an air leak but where from is a mystery. I can hear the turbo whistling and I lose power at high revs, that's bout it in a nutshell
Lol we've got some bits but not everything. If its from a 2.5na or 300tdi and interchangeable with a 200tdi then I'm in luck but we dont hold a lot of spares. Manifold gasket will go on the shopping list, it certainly can't hurt.
Oh one thing I noticed tonight when I revved it at idle was that when the revs are dying down you can hear a whistling tailing off too. Sounds like it's coming from the right side of the engine bay (brake servo side) though I'm inside the vehicle so can't tell
To try and describe it better its as if something is holding the vehicle back, the revs go up and the turbo runs fine in conjuction with the revs but they will climb and climb whereas the vehicle just wont speed up at all.
It's started juddering a wee bit when pulling away in first but that's it, clutch will need done soon but I don't think it's that bad just yet. If the clutch was slipping surely there would be more/different symptoms than a lack of power though.
Anyone know if I can order a replacement boost diapraghm incase mine is split? Also what about the diaphragm in the wastegate being split? Is that a possibility?
