Looks like it was a great days lanning!!not sure about the sideways slant on my rd tyres tho:wtf: But i'll be there :tea: I'll bring the jim beam if anyone likes it
Road tyres wouldn't make a few places of the route when we went ... indeed we were also sliding and 'drifting' in a couple of places, however, for the trip in May I guess road tyres would work OK ish as the ground ought to be much dryer ... A lot of the ruts are down to good ground and had extremely good grip, even under 3' of water there was enough grip, with no wheelspin on my AT's. Some of the muddy climbs were dicey, but good technique (unlike my bombhole feckup where I just let it drop in instead of controlling it) would get you through. The main concern for May would be Discos/Freelanders on standard size tyres, both my Disco and 90boys Defender touched floor a few times, but again, technique and line would get standard stuff through ...
I'd say 95% of the route would be do-able with a standard Disco and road tyres .. we have ropes and strops for the rest ..
