well it looks like next weekened ill be out with a long bit of flexible exhaust pipe and an angle grinder gettin this done! and il take some pics when im done and see what you think!

It took me about half a day.
And there's nowt dodgy bout my MOT BoB. What's tested is security, leaks, smoke and non-excessive noise - it passes on all counts. So fook off.

yup , ah just gorra straight thru 3" pipe from the manifold with this ****er stuck on the end as its all i had lying around, MOT's no probs.

iv got a straight thru set up and its 3" bore.n its neva been pulled on a MOT,well not fa the exhaust anyrode.but mine is a stack up the bak of mi truckcab so most of the noise guz up'erds.

I wonder if they test the hearing on Vehicle Technicians wot do MOT tests.... this could explain it.
I thought, from something I read probably about 30 years ago, that having no back pressure in the exhaust reduces performance as the Inlet tract should be balanced with the Exhaust tract to create the best gas flow, and at least in a petrol engine an open exhaust burns the exhaust valves.
But it does look good Trewey, even with the bodge.

aye true enough, specialy fer petrols, i have'nt seen any difference in mine apart from it picks up better, yer can always just get shut of the back box to start with, see how it runs, then cut the front one out and pipe it up at a later date.
on the older 90 / 110's it just a pipe after all, i would now rather make me own custom over buying a cheapo any day

my side exit zorst exits at the rear quarter panel as high as i could get it..rear box removed but dont sound any different..the centre box is the next to be removed so it will be straight thru..we done my mates bobtail disco with a straight thru zorst and it sounds loads better the turbo seems to perform better and acceleration is noticeably better

Back pressure and turbos dont really mix. Even on petrol engines its a trade off between whats legal (noise wise) and cost.
The turbo itself is a restriction in the exhaust flow so whatever you do after the turbo dont really matter with regards to the speed in getting the exhaust gases away from the engine.
However it will allow the turbo to spin up faster which is good for performance.
Diesels thrive on big bore low restriction exhausts.
