So after breaking my son's windscreen and bearing in mind I've never dealt with a windscreen repair in my years of driving. 894€ for a new heated and tinted screen fitted at the local Renault garage.
The day after in the rain there is water in the foot wells....
?? So... We took it back to renault and pointed out the water ingress...
Two hours later a phone call "your sun roof is leaking into your car"
Really? It never leaked before and we had fixed the pollen filter leaks full stop. Yes, full stop.
So I absorb the fact that possibly the drains could have just blocked by coincidence or some of the old glue could have made it's way into a drain.
We went to the car and found the rear trim above the bumper had been dragged backwards and unclipped. Later finding a slight delve in the plastic where it has been caught on something.
The interior was covered in crap from the repair.
The rubber around the door and windscreen trim had been pulled away from the frame and left hanging.
We get home...
Of comes all the trim because I'm not having it...
Sunroof drains tested and clear.
The windscreen sill gutter was packed with glue from the old screen and was flooding the footwell and heater motor.
I continued to wet test the screen after clearing the gutter/s.
After climbing inside with the door shut and a torch in hand Elliott poured water onto the screen top while I peeled back the headlining above the screen and driiiiip...
I f*cking knew it....
Slam goes the bonnet, "Elliott get the tools out of the car and pull it out of the garage.... I was fuming, absolutely fuming...
I got into mine and stormed up there while poor Elliott is following behind.
Marches into the garage workshop and shakes my head in a rather unhappy fashion.
"its not the sunroof it's the screen"...
The young lad is convinced it's not the screen... My words were "get your self a torch and some water and come with me" .. The owner of the garage kind of squirms away...
We take the car around the back of the garage we're I tell him to get in shut the door while his colleague wets the screen down. Still doubting what I'm saying until it drips into his face. At this point I aggressively nudged his colleagues arm and said there you go. Voilà.
So,
A damaged trim,
A filthy interior,
A water soaked carpet, dash and heater motor.
A partly removed weather seal.
And a leaking 700€ heated f*cking screen... Am I right to be annoyed because tomorrow I'm going back to demand they either do the whole job properly or a refund.... And clean the interior, refit the seal they've pulled off and do something about the trim that's been damaged while the car was in their care...... Tell me if I'm wrong but there's a bastid reason why I don't trust any fecker else to do anything I can't do.... Mention insurance go on......
