any reasonable ep90 ep75w90 or ep80w90 trade oil from local motor factors

Mine is filled with Comma SX75W-90 GLS semi synthetic, the semi and full synthetics are a bit lighter than the older mineral oils and should run cooler.

I'm being a total dullard here but which one of those is the thickest? I have a slight oil weep on mine so thinking the thicker the better!

Once it gets warm , is all 90 not the same? So providing you get it hot and then the leakage will be the same no matter which grade of 90 max, whether single or multi you put in?

Cheers

Which transfer box you putting that in Lynall ? I have the same issue, so maybe a good short term solution.

Cheers

LT230, its had news seals/new flanges and the fooker still leaked, thicker oil didnt stop (obviously) it but made it much better.

Also use it in my S2 gearbox/tfer box/diffs/steering box and steering relay, its doesnt stop the leaks but massively slows them down, main reason I changed it was I read in the S2 manual somewhere that for severe duties 85/140 is recommended and as I had gone from 50 bhp to over 100 I reckoend that was severe enough, then I just ended up using it in the rest of the car.

Did you replace the intermediate shaft "o rings", that seems to be the worst place for leaks. And I found if the breather is obstructed then the internal pressure in the case will push oil out of every joint, no matter how thick the oil is.

No I havent looked at the o rings and since it stopped being my main car it cant have covered 1500 miles in the last 3.7 years, so its pretty low on my to do list:D
