Defender 90 300tdi.
If i grab the end of my front propshaft where it mates with the front flange on the transfer box there is a few mm of sideways movement/play.
I get some vibration at about 35mph which is drivetrain related (road speed only related not engine speed).
WIth new shocks, polybushes, props, balanced wheels, steering damper the only thing i can put it down to is the transfer box 'play'.
My question is, is it something that's okay to put up with or should the output flange have no play whatsoever?
If the play is left as it is will it cause damage to other components?
Am i flapping about nothing?
IF i have the bearings changed how much are talking about for parts? and anyone know labour time?
Cheers.
