Hi, I just got in and started my defender today, and the green trailer indicator light on the dash came on. Its solid and stays on no matter what other light I put on. Just to be clear, I don't have a trailer connected. And I don't seem to have any wiring for a trailer, at least from what I can see. I'm assuming this is due to a short somewhere. Any help on where to start looking would be much appreciated. Oh and it's a 1987 110 with a defender 200tdi conversion.

I have a 1987 90 with the same conversion. This happened to me also and I found it was a bad earth in the wiring behind the dash.
It's a bit of a mess behind mine :) the white multi-plug that attaches to the dash needed cleaning and the problem went away....

I had exactly the same happen to me today. Trailer light on and I'm not even wired for a trailer:confused:. I thought it was just damp getting in somewhere after a very wet weekend. I plan to leave it until the Spring to dry out,:).
