haha I've just done little bits of patching recently I can put some pics up later but no major progress really, I've been busy with young farmers stuff

Thanks to all you guys asking when it's going to be done I'm back in the workshop
Just doing some touch up spraying for the crannies you inevitably miss when there's spray in the air
Ill hopefully get the bulkhead welded up tonight and some paint on, I'm not sure whether to respray the whole thing or not yet the paints fairly good but it would look immense with new paint
I'm seeing Dave at tornado Motorsport this weekend regarding cage design and specs currently thinking full truck cab cage as tight to the body as possible with tree defectors, cross bars on the roof and some other little extras prob 50mm diameter 3.2mm wall but ill get his opinion too. It's one of them things that will only be done once and so it has to e exactly what I need

Here's some pickies of the state of the bulkhead, like all things it seems not too bad until you delve deeper and keep finding layers of rust on metal that you didn't think was there there like onions these bulkheads
Another layer down
And pretty much where I am now
Ill get some thin flat plate tomorrow to recraft what's lost to rust worm
The other side isn't as bad but still needs some quilting
I've also re-stamped the chassis number on the chassis as it was lost when I replaced the front chassis leg

Right I've just treated myself to my birthday present, the roll cage is commissioned challenge spec cage with crossover bars on the roof, tree defectors, winch hoops and centre winch hoop should be ready by the end of next week
I'm getting its from tornado Motorsport, he had a customers vehicle in with this spec cage when I was there and it's just what I wanted

haha I've not won the lottery or I'd already be so much higher spekked building all the cage myself to save cost just getting all the bends and notches done for me haha the money has come from working my ass off since I was 14 so it's all savings and money from wages

a little more progress last night, i've got all the suspention back together, dislocation cones on and wheels back on much not much else, although my steel has arrived to repair the bulkhead so ill get onto that wednesday night was delivering a customers 90 the other day and it made me realise how much i miss mine

Right update
Started off tonight by dropping in the gearbox
I've got the front prop on but I'm taking off the handbrake drum to free everything off before I put the back prop on, it will get an x eng type handbrake at some point, but until then ill struggle on with the standard one
Then I. Looked at my engines sitting on the floor and thought bugger it lets get on with the engine rebuild.
The engine that was in before has low compression on no 1 cylinder and so I was going to use my second block and build up from there
So I begun cleaning up the top of the block and inside the cylinders to get the grime off that had accumulated, no rust though stopped that before it began
Infill I find this is no 1 cylinder
Grrrrrr if you can't see that's a crack now I don't know if you can get replacement liners for 200tdis but I doubt it so that sculleries using the good block.
So I moved on to my old engine to try rebuilding that instead.
Started off like this,
And after 20 minutes I got to here
So then I've inspected the engine to see if I can see score marks from broken piston rings ect but what I find is this.
This is what no 1 looks like, firstly the rust worries me but if you look at the top of the cylinder you will see a lip, this lip is about 1mm thick and runs all the way around the cylinder, I've never seen this before and all 4 cylinders have lips of varying ammount, I take it the bores are just very worn from use and I can see no other way the lips could be created ? Anyway advice guys are the bores honeable ? I know this will require larger diameter pistons or is this scrap too ?
