How long you dins under for pal?
Didn't see this thread for a while so sorry for going back a few pages. If I was going for big power, it would be a BMW V8.
Can get adapter plates for bolting the M60b40s to BMW M50 ZF gearboxes so with that in mind, a Rangerover 2.5tds gearbox would fit very easily.
Granted a standard R380 would probably **** itself in five minutes but at least many of the parts would still be reasonably off the shelf to a point.
Of course, using an BMW V8 opens the possibilities for an E39 M5 engine too. 400-440bhp and 500Nm is a silly amount of power
1uzfe is a very nice engine too though and if course is quite light.
Trouble with these engine is always going to be oil starvation if used in an offroader of course so a dry sump may be needed.
Actually reckon bmw V8s would be cheaper over here than a Rover V8 lump!
Who knows, I might stick one into my trayback if I get sick of the 300.
I'd love to build a soft-top 90 for the road with an M5 V8... Dreams keep your imagination healthy I suppose
Someone's gotta have a go
I'm definately sticking something special in the range rover but I'm still in decided what that special engine is
I agree, a Toyota lump would b awesome! plenty of lexus v8's about for not much, just cost of getting all in ect more than anything.Lexus lump would be the dream
Nice one! you drove it yet?

8th lead put on and it runs smooth as a nut. ... For 2 seconds then dies away  the more sensors I add the better it will be though coughs when you press the loud pedal too and doesn't really rev up, fuel issue ? There's not a lot in the tank which may be the problem.
Finish water and get it running well are priority a for tomorrow
