SMG basically?

They have pneumatic clutch with electronic manual shift, I was meaning auto box with manual clutch instead of torque converter.

You could have an auto with manual clutch, that would be nice, kinda like a cheap mans racing sequential box, clutch for stop/start, no clutch for regular shifts.

Would take some fairly involved messing about that I don't have the resources for! :p

A nice long conversation with Mr Ashcroft would be involved :p

Does anyone know a good place to get custom props made, don't particularly want to pay an arm and a leg but they must be good

Also does anyone know if there are any standard props 60cm long and 80 cm long sitting in the standard position ?

80 is about 31.5"

rear 110 prop might fit or rear disco, think they're around the 31" mark

for the custom one I was quoted £90 for mine at Dr. Prop or £100 at driveline Morcambe using wide angles

Engine oil cooler done :)

Made from 3/8 bsp hydraulic hose, had to mess around with a few fittings and adapters but its quite neat :)

Water next ....

I'm thinking about swapping the N/A radiator that's currently on for the V8 one from the rangie, this is bigger so will help cooling and it has 2 oil coolers built in 1 for engine and 1 for auto, I'm thinking about using both of these for the auto cooler as I already have a engine cooler,

Would this be adequate cooling for the auto box ? Saves me buying a specific cooler for the auto and it means I can use the radiator completely

might over cool the auto box if its only meant to use one side ?

how much cooling did your TD rad provide?

I'm putting a 300tdi rad into my series now as the V8 one doesn't fit as well as the smaller 300 one then fitting an oil cooler too on thermostat so it doesn't mess with the pressure too much

Before there was a oil cooler in the rad and another in front of the radiators for the auto box so having the 2 in the rad can't hurt, plus it's going to get thrashed so cooling is important, I could fit a thermostat to it so it only operates above a certain temp

Did you run the v8 with the tdi rad yet ? I'm just wondering if it'll have enough capacity for mine. Gonna be leaving it with constant fans on and probably a lower opening temp thermostat too

No the v8 has only run in te rangie with standard rad which is almost double the size of the tdi one

Plus my rads at te back so it needs all the surface area it can get

Oh well :p I guess I'll test the water then! May plumb in a couple of heater matrix rads too without casings just to help out with cooling if needed. Got plenty of space on the crossmember as my main rad cant sit there anymore

Having said that mines running in the front so should hopefully be ok as the standard series radiator is capable of keeping a V8 cool when its in good condition

I have a 200 tdi rad on a 3.5 its ok I have a viscous fan on it tho. a coupld of the guys trial with it and its ok if everything is tip top.

New rear rad and pipe work is done :)

Oil pipes are all done and gearbox is refilled

I've found a rear prop too :D

Think it's the front one off the 90 but not sure ill have to check on a customers vehicle

So just fuel, air and water to do and wire up the wires to the ecu to go :D

Looking good, ide add some chaffing protection for the oil cooler pipes against the tub. Oh and is there a reason you split the pipes rather than have it loop though both sides?

Yeah I will do they don't actually touch but you can't be too safe :)

It wouldn't make too much difference either way but we only had duplex pipe in stock apart from enough to do the cross overs and so it was easier to do it like this, plus it was the one that popped into my
Mind :)
