Hello Land rover lovers,
i have just registered on here so happy to meet you all and looking to pick your brains.
i have a 4.6 autobiography,it has been in the body shop for the last 3 years being restord, after bringing her out and flying through the mot she runs as sweet as ever but,it has started with the traction faliure light with the ABS light coming mainly after being on an incline,if i select 4 wheel drive and travel a short distance they go out. they do come back on when parked on an incline in traffic. my land rover garage havent got a clue and want to sell me a new ABS manifold with the sensor in ,i am not convinced of this.
i have read some of the chats on here but would like to see if there has been the same faults from you people.
its allways the traction light first.

The error reporting by the abs is quite good and will point to sensors, brake switch and abs pump pressure sensor amongst others.

So, it really is worth checking the codes before throwing parts at it.

Next step would be to check the obvious like loose wheel sensors, poor connections etc.

ABS ECU last, I think.

It has permanent 4 wheel drive:rolleyes:
Sensors, wheel bearings, ECU, corrosion due to water leaks.

Brake switch fault or maladjusment will show a ABS fault but NOT a TC fault. Both lamps on is usually low fluid pressure. :)
 
Tap all the ABS sensors in - the gap will be set automatically once the car moves - check the battery voltage. The P38's TC system is one of the first to complain when battery voltage is too low.

Low fluid would be the handbrake warning lamp. Also a message. Could be a few things or combinations. But TC and ABS is usually lack of minimum pressure in sphere. Maybe if he still has brakes, pressure switch fault. Needs diag on it.
