AKA gross trailer weightIf the trailer is plated at 3500 kg, that is all the total weight of trailer and load should be.

Ah, feck it, just tow your 6t on the 90. VOSA and/or the police might have more luck explaining to you.
All depends on what you are towing sand and gravel the discovery can tow 3500 kg easy, put a car on of 2 tons and hard to get balance right plus centre of gravity higher so tends to rock side to side moreI towed the digger today 2.6 tonnes trailer 750kg plus buckets, disco 1 steel bumpers
winch full roof rack with awnings 2" lift hd springs ect & tools so a fair weight. max speed 45/50
Feels nice to drive....
Same load with my 90 standard height no lift, fkn horrible at 30mph an worse in the wet it wants
to push you down the road, it doesnt feel safe at all.
Having used both, I would say a Disco is a far better tow vehicle than a 90. V8 Auto for preference among the Discos. The upside of EAS is you can load 8ton on the back and she'll sit dead level. "improvise and adapt" etc etc
I have towed 3500kg behind a 90 2.5 petrol and to be fair I don't fancy doing it again, as Turboman says it is quite unwieldy being very short especially on main roads in my experience it got interesting over 30mph ya had to show the trailer who was boss its top speed was 35 loaded
My mate even said you're better off towing with a D2 and not "stubby"
VOSA might but the average PC would have no idea whatsoever. Just have to hope it's not someone off traffic who's into trailers legislation.Ah, feck it, just tow your 6t on the 90. VOSA and/or the police might have more luck explaining to you.
The answer is stamped on his VIN plate, but it’s not the answer he wants!VOSA might but the average PC would have no idea whatsoever. Just have to hope it's not someone off traffic who's into trailers legislation.
Your answer is probably somewhere in here. Good luck: :
