Hi folks.

No doubt some of you do a lot of towing with your landy's.. but what is the max weight reg of towing with a 90??
I am looking to buy either an ifor williams hb505 or 510 horse trailer and although it would mainly have 1 horse in it, there may be occasion to have 2.

Would i be ok doing this?

I'm not new to towing and learned to drive going backwards with a boat on trailer, way before going forwards. I know i'm ok on my licence.. but it suddenly dawned on me that there must be a limit to being legal, and would prefer to be ok on this.

Been in a 200tdi disco pulling 2 horses in a ifor Williams trailer, one horse 14hh other over 17hh so plenty of weight there!

Weren't any problems :)

Your 90 is rated to tow 3500kg and an ifor horse box is about 2400kg loaded do well within your limits depending on with trailer you go for the specs will be on side of A Bar, hope this helps

Ifor 510 can be towed by a 90 , even with 2 17hh horses in , although , we both know that 17hh don't always weigh the same , a lean T/B and a full up shire can vary in weight a lot , so it's great to know your horses weights , just to be on the safe side ...your local weigh bridge is the place to drive em to. :)

Easy peasy. I've towed a 505 with 2 16.2's no sweat and well within the limit.

Happy and safe towing ahead for you :D

Thanks folks for all the info.
Looking out for a trailer now we have the new horse.

Happy days ahead as stated. My mrs is grinning ear to ear.

If anyone knows of a reasonable trailer near them tucked away doing nothing much.. let me know.

Ooo very nice!!

I agree with the others, my 510 has a MAM of 2.7 tonnes and the Landy can tow 3.5 so well within the limit. The trailer itself weighs around a tonne so 1.7 tonnes for the horses. You wont find many which would push it over the limit, although you need to take account of water/tack boxes and anything else you add to it.

I was surprised that my 200tdi tow it just as easily as my Disco did. Goes up the steep hill behind the yard in third with two big horses in the trailer :D

Lovely horse too :D:D

I love Appy's and he's lovely. Anything with spots, coloureds, etc. really stand out IMO. my mare is tobiano, I love her markings though being mostly white is high maintenance  l

LOL one of our coloureds is mainly white. I prefer the one with more black on it, takes less stain remover and chalk to make her pretty :D
