Towbar and parking sensors

Hi,

I've been looking at this forum for a few days, there seems to be a lot of helpful contributors here.
We will soon be picking up our first freelander and already need some advice.
My question is when fitting a towbar to a vehicle with rear parking sensors do I need a detachable version to avoid detection from the parking sensors or is fixed towball OK on freelanders?
Anyone with any personal experience and advice on this?

The fixed towbar works fine on the freelander and doesnt effect the sensors at all, there is a button to disable the sensors when reversing with the trailer attached.

The towbar is the parking sensor on mine. When it clunks I know I've gone far enough.

I don't suppose there is anyone in the chester area who has one on there freelander that they don't use/want. Bank balance has took a bashing buying the car so it would help if I can find a second hand towbar.
There must be loads out there that aren't used.

bought a new one with all electrics for mine for £75 of ebay. the 2nd hand ones get up into the £60's on there, so I plumped for a new one. (my firm paid for it 'cos it could use it for work too).

Someone on here may have one they don't want, worth an ask.

if it's the freelander 1, it's a piece of p155 to fit, all done in an hour including electrickery

Who would want parking sensors on anything....pain in arse if you ask me....mind you Icant see sense in cruise control either.....Is it coz I is getting past it???
